    He is a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Physics and Centre for Climate and Air Pollution Studies at the National University of Ireland Galway. His research activities are in the areas of indoor air pollution, thermal comfort and human health. In particular, his recent research focus is on examining the impacts on indoor air quality, as a consequence of the Irish National Energy Retrofit programmes.

     

     

    Title: Unintended consequences of improving energy efficiency in Irish dwellings.

    Synopsis: The talk provides an overview of the implications for indoor air quality following energy-efficient retrofit scenarios in Irish dwellings. The talk summaries on-going research at NUI Galway that examines the implications for indoor environmental quality (radon gas, particulate matter, humidity, temperature), which is linked directly to the NSAI’s S.R. 54 Code of Practice and Technical Guidance Document Part F – Ventilation.
